Emma Hercus

Emma is a multi media artist who paints, weaves and often uses found objects within her work to create assemblage pieces. She is currently studying towards a Diploma of Creativity at the Learning Connection in Wellington. She is interested in creating abstract figurative works.
Emma draws inspiration from her surroundings. Landscapes and creatures of past and present. Often using old photos, stories or legends as a starting point for her paintings. She is particularly drawn to the beauty of our native birds.
Emma mostly uses acrylic paint and experiments with different ways of applying it to create texture and happy accidents. She likes her work to have an interesting story to tell that makes the viewer wonder.
